Campus Ministry to Host Bishop Munib Younan

Augustana Campus Ministry will be hosting Bishop Munib Younan Wednesday, Sept. 18, through Monday, Sept. 23. During his days on campus, he will preach and spend time with Augustana students, faculty and staff. Additionally, he plans to engage area churches about the topic of interfaith relations.
As a university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Augustana is sponsored by the Network of ELCA Colleges and Universities (NECU) and Bishop Younan's visit is part of a larger tour of ELCA colleges and universities.
Following are various events to which everyone is welcome.
10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Chapel of Reconciliation (2125 S. Summit Ave.). Bishop Younan will be preaching while the new SD Synod ELCA Bishop Constanze Hagmaier will be presiding and The Augustana Choir will lead in song.
- Interfaith Discussion
6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Muslim Community Center (3932 S. Western Ave.)
- "Building Community"
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Chapel of Reconciliation (2125 S. Summit Ave.). Bishop Younan will give the keynote address. Responses will be given by Dr. Mohammad Qamar from a Muslim perspective, Senator Stan Adelstein from a Jewish perspective, and Rev. Randall Gehring from an ELCA Christian perspective.
