The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery will present the High School Invitational Wednesday, Jan. 11, through Friday, Feb. 3. Closing events and an awards presentation are set for 5-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

A wide range of mediums will be exhibited, including digital photography, painting, printmaking and ceramics. 

“I think that our viewers will be very impressed at the quality of art being created in our state’s high schools,” notes gallery director Lindsay Twa. 

The exhibition will be juried by members of the Augustana Art Department, who will be making awards of art supplies. Senior high school artists can also participate in a portfolio review to compete for $2,000 Augustana pro artis scholarships.

Friday, Feb. 3, Closing Events

3:00-5:00 p.m.: The pro artis scholarship portfolio reviews — students apply and sign up in advance.
5:00 p.m.: Dinner for exhibiting students, their teachers and parents in the atrium of the Center for Visual Arts
5:30-7:00 p.m.: Open-studios, workshop demonstrations, portfolio reviews (Any student interested in a personal review of their portfolio can sign up for a time slot: contact Lindsay Twa by Monday, Feb. 1.)
7:00-8:30 p.m.: Eide/Dalrymple Gallery Reception
7:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony.
8:30 p.m.: Students and/or teachers may take home their artwork

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery is located on Commons Circle (30th St. and Grange Ave.), in the Center for Visual Arts at Augustana University. The gallery is open to the public and free of charge. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 1-4 p.m. Closed Sundays.
