  • Commencement Weekend

    Commencement events honoring the Class of 2013 will be held May 23-25 on campus. Learn more about the President's Social, Senior Celebration, the Reception for Civitas Graduates, the Nurse Pinning Ceremony, Baccalaureate and the Commencement Ceremony.

  • Summer Scholar Camp at Augustana

    Over afternoon sessions starting June 4, high school students of all ages will learn by focusing on relevant and compelling topics, rigorous content and test/college preparation. Space is limited; register today.

  • March 17: Augustana Baseball at the Metrodome

    The Augustana baseball team is scheduled to play four games at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn., March 17-20. All baseball alumni, current and former parents, and friends of the baseball program are invited to attend a gathering at the Metrodome during the Saturday, March 17, game versus University of Mary.

  • March 16-18: 17th Annual Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Basketball Tournament

    Sixty area boys and girls basketball teams from fourth grade through ninth grade will shoot hoops for a good cause at the 17th annual Fighting Hunger and Feeding Hope Basketball Tournament, set for March 16-18 at the Elmen Center.

  • March 16: 2012 Augustana Athletic Club Auction

    The 26th annual Augustana Athletic Club Auction will be held on Friday, March 16, at the Sioux Falls Ramkota Inn Exhibit Hall. All of the proceeds from the Auction benefit scholarships for Augustana student-athletes.

  • March 11: Violist, Sioux Falls Native Sabina Thatcher to Play with College & Community Orchestra

    Sioux Falls native and principal violist of The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Sabina Thatcher, will play with the Augustana College & Community Orchestra for their spring concert at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, at the Washington Pavilion. The program will feature Vaughan Williams' Suite for Viola and Orchestra, Liszt's Les préludes and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 9.

  • March 8 - April 14: Eide/Dalrymple Features Alice Leora Briggs' Juárez Works

    The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery will host their latest exhibit, "Alice Leora Briggs: Near Impunity," on display from Thursday, March 8, to Saturday, April 14. A gallery reception is scheduled for 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 9, with the Artist's Talk set to begin at 6 p.m. In addition, Alice Leora Briggs will speak at a special presentation on Juárez at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, in the Kresge Recital Hall. All events are free and open to the public.

  • March 5-6: Jazz on the Upper Great Plains

    The Augustana Northlanders Jazz Band, along with bands from 30 area high schools and middle schools, will perform along with world-famous saxophonist Mark Colby and Matt Niess, lead trombonist with the U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, at the 38th-annual Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival March 5-6.

  • Through May 26: 'Interpretations of Wounded Knee' Exhibit on Display in CWS

    “Interpretations of Wounded Knee 1973 and 1890,” an exhibit commemorating the 40th anniversary of the occupation of Wounded Knee in 1973. The exhibition will be on display in the Madsen/Nelson/Elmen Galleries of the Center for Western Studies’ Fantle Building through May 26.

  • March 1-3: 2012 Peace Prize Forum in Minneapolis, Choir to Perform

    The 2012 Nobel Peace Prize Forum will be livestreamed from the campuses of Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School for Public Affairs in Minneapolis, Minn., March 1-3. The Augustana Choir will be performing at the Closing Ceremony at 4:00 p.m., March 3, in the Ted Mann Concert Hall where they will premiere a commissioned work dedicated to the Forum.

  • March 1-3, 8-10: Spring Musical 'Zombie Prom'

    The Augustana Theatre Department's spring Main Stage musical, Zombie Prom, will run March 1-3 and 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. This student-designed production brings the "fabulous fifties" back to life — and a few other things that should have stayed dead. The show, by John Dempsey and Dana P. Rowe after a story by Dempsey and Hugh M. Murphy, tells the story of teenage love gone horribly wrong and is approved for the whole "nuclear" family.

  • Feb. 29: A Conversation With Porter Williams

    In celebration of Black History Month, local sculptor Porter Williams will discuss his artistic influences and reflect on what it was like to grow up as an African-American in Sioux Falls and the route he took to become a professional artist. His discussion, "A Conversation with Porter Williams," will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, in Kresge Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
