  • Nov. 14-18: Theatre Season Opens With "Inspecting Carol"

    The laugh-out-loud "Inspecting Carol," a play about a Midwestern theatre company’s annual production of the Dickens classic, "A Christmas Carol" opens Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Edith Mortenson Theatre.

  • Nov. 13: Students to Present Opera Theatre

    Selections from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," "The Secret Marriage" by Domenica Cimarosa and "The Elixer of Love" by Gaetano Donizetti will be featured in the fall presentation by Augustana's Opera Theatre program, set for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Kresge Recital Hall.

  • Nov. 10: 2nd Annual Reading Marathon to Read Fitzgerald's 'Gatsby'

    On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Alpha Xi Mu chapter of Sigma Tau Delta (the international honors society for English majors and minors) will host its second annual Reading Marathon beginning at 10 a.m. in the Siverson Lounge. This year, they will read F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" aloud.

  • Nov. 10: Band Festival Concert to Feature Area Musicians

    The 55th annual Augustana College Band Festival Concert will be held in the Mary V. Sommervold Hall of the Washington Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Festival features nearly 350 musicians from area high schools.

  • Nov. 8: State Department Innovator, Internet Activist Jared Cohen to Speak at Boe Forum

    Internet activist Jared Cohen, former advisor to Secretaries of State Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton, author, member of the Council on Foreign Relations and director of Google Ideas, will speak at the 2012 Boe Forum on Public Affairs on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Elmen Center.

  • Nov. 4: Fall Choral Concert Event

    The Augustana Choir, the Collegiate Chorale, Angelus and the Chamber Choir will perform a Fall Concert Event beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The concert will mark the directorial debut of Dr. Paul Nesheim, associate professor of music and director of The Augustana Choir, the fifth in the Choir’s 90-year history.

  • Nov. 3: Spirit Squad Youth Clinic

    The Augustana Spirit Squad Youth Cheer and Dance Clinic will be from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Cost is $35 per child (which includes a sweatshirt), and is open to children ages 4-12 years old. The participants will perform before the kick-off of the football game.

  • Nov. 2: Fall Band Concert at the Washington Pavilion

    The Augustana Band, under the direction of Dr. Paul Schilf, and the Augustana College/Community Band, under the direction of Mark Isackson, will perform a Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls. The concert will feature a solo by senior music major Emily Eichele.

  • Oct 30: Facing the Stranger — Engaging Other Religious Traditions

    As we approach Reformation Day, three essays by Augustana professors uncover the problems inherent in facing the stranger’s religious tradition. Join us to discuss them in an all-campus convocation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the Chapel of Reconciliation.
