  • Commencement Weekend

    Commencement events honoring the Class of 2013 will be held May 23-25 on campus. Learn more about the President's Social, Senior Celebration, the Reception for Civitas Graduates, the Nurse Pinning Ceremony, Baccalaureate and the Commencement Ceremony.

  • Summer Scholar Camp at Augustana

    Over afternoon sessions starting June 4, high school students of all ages will learn by focusing on relevant and compelling topics, rigorous content and test/college preparation. Space is limited; register today.

  • March 7: Athletic Club Auction

    The Augustana Athletic Club Auction will be held on Thursday, March 7, at the Sioux Falls Ramkota Inn Exhibit Hall. All of the proceeds from the Athletic Club Auction benefit scholarships for Augustana student-athletes.

  • March 4-5: Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Features Trumpeter Jon Faddis

    Bands from 30 area high schools and middle schools, along with Augustana's Northlander's Jazz Band, will perform during the 39th annual Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival, set for March 4-5. World-famous trumpeter, conductor, composer and educator Jon Faddis is the festival's featured musician. Learn more and view performance schedules.

  • Through May 18: The Artwork of Jerry Fogg

    The Center for Western Studies' newest exhibit features works by Native American artist Jerry Fogg. "Native Soul: The Artwork of Jerry Fogg" will be on display through Saturday, May 18. A gallery reception including a gallery talk is set for 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

  • March 1: String Quartet Concert

    The Augustana String Quartet will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, in Kresge Recital Hall. Members of the Augustana String Quartet are: Christian Zamora, violin; Justyna Lutow-Resch, violin; Kathryn Hufnagle, cello; and Tyler Sieh, viola.

  • Feb. 27-March 3: Theatre to Present 'The Bacchae'

    The Augustana Department of Performing and Visual Arts presents "The Bacchae," an ancient Greek tragedy by the Athenian playwright Euripides, Feb. 27-March 3 in the Edith Mortenson Center Theatre.

  • Feb. 27: Discussion to Explore Medicaid Expansion

    Joy Smolnisky, director of the South Dakota Budget and Policy Project, a nonpartisan advocacy group, will discuss "Medicaid Expansion: a South Dakota Decision" at Noon on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Back Alley. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Feb. 21-22: Augustana Dining Room to Feature Global Chef from Thailand

    The Augustana Dining Room will feature Thai cuisine prepared by Sodexo Global Chef Sawangdee Pornthip during lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 21-22. Since 2003, Sodexo has shared its top executive chefs from around the world with clients and customers in other countries through this exchange program.

  • Feb. 17: Archeology Presents Fort Charlotte Investigation

    February's installment of Augustana's Third Sunday Archeology Program will feature Jay Sturdevant, archeologist at the National Park Service's Midwest Archeological Center in Lincoln, Neb. Sturdevant's discussion on "Moving Between Waters: The Archeology of Fort Charlotte and Fur Trade Logistics" will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Gilbert Science Center Auditorium (GSC #100) on the Augustana Campus.

  • Feb. 16-17: Augustana Orchestra to Perform in Twin Cities

    The Augustana Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Stanichar, will perform in the Twin Cities Feb. 16-17. On Saturday, Feb. 16, the Orchestra will play the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis. On Sunday, it performs at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minn.

  • Feb. 15-17: 33rd Annual Artists of the Plains Show and Sale

    Sponsored by the Center for Western Studies, the show will feature works by 26 local and regional artists, is free and open to the public, and will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre in downtown Sioux Falls.
