  • Jan. 17: Proposals Due for SD Quasquicentennial Exhibit

    The Center for Western Studies (CWS) will host a juried art exhibit and sale of original works of art by current and past residents of South Dakota in observance of the state's 125th anniversary of statehood. Proposals are due by Friday, Jan. 17. Learn more and download the artist proposal form.

  • Through Dec. 19: Finals Week Activities

    During Finals Week, Augustana encourages students to take advantage events and resources including Semester Shutdown, Midnight Madness, the Bookstore sale and extended hours at the Mikkelsen Library and Elmen Center.

  • Dec. 14: Candlelight Worship Service

    Ahead of finals week and as part of Semester Shutdown, Augustana Campus Ministries invites you to a candlelight Christmas service at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Chapel of Reconciliation.

  • Dec. 12: Augustana Bands' Christmas Extravaganza

    As part of Christmas at Augustana, the Performing and Visual Arts presents the Augustana Bands' Christmas Extravaganza, a holiday concert featuring nearly 200 instrumentalists at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Washington Pavilion.

  • Dec. 12: Speaker on Syrian-Lebanese Culture in the Dakotas

    Join us on Thursday, Dec. 12, to hear Paul L. Whitney discuss "Syrian-Lebanese Culture in the Dakotas," as a visiting speaker on Augustana’s International Theme of “Islam in our Community, Past and Present.”

  • Dec. 11: Biology Seminar

    Join the Biology Department for its Fall Biology Seminars in the Gilbert Science Center. At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, we'll hear about “Raw Functions of Sushi Domain Containing 2 (SUSD2) in Breast Tumorigenesis” by Dr. Kristi Egland in GSC Rm 101.

  • Dec. 9: Forum on "Without Democracy There Cannot Be Peace: Nelson Mandela, South Africa and the World"

    Augustana students and professors from the areas of government, education and music will discuss the impact of Nelson Mandela's work in transforming South Africa and the world in a forum titled "Without Democracy There Cannot Be Peace: Nelson Mandela, South Africa and the World" at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, in room 201 of the Madsen Center. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Dec. 6-8: Christmas Vespers 2013

    As part of Christmas at Augustana, the Performing and Visual Arts presents Christmas Vespers 2013 “Repeat the Sounding Joy!,” a celebration of the birth of Christ featuring Augustana’s four choirs and the orchestra, Dec. 6-8. Performances will be held in Sioux Falls at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and in Rapid City at Calvary Lutheran Church.

  • Dec. 4: Percussion Concert

    The Augustana Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. John Pennington, will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Kresge Recital Hall.

  • Dec. 3-4: Registry Drive

    Augustana will host a Be The Match® registry drive for potential bone marrow donors from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Siverson Lounge.
