How to Apply for Financial Aid

Over 95% of Augustana's students receive need- and merit-based financial assistance. During the current academic year, over $18 million is being awarded to students from institutional, federal and private sources. Generous support from alumni, special friends of the College, corporations and foundations enables Augustana to remain affordable for families in a wide range of economic categories.

There are four basic steps you need to complete in order to apply for financial aid at Augustana College:

STEP 1: Complete an Application for Admission to Augustana College. This application will determine your eligibility for most Augustana scholarships and grants.

STEP 2: Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for need-based aid. We encourage all families to complete this important process to fully utilize the federal funding sources available to them. The FASFA will establish your eligibility for federal and institutional aid programs. You may complete this process on-line or by completing a paper FAFSA which can be obtained from your high school counselor or the Office of Financial Aid. Augustana's school code is 003458.

STEP 3: Upon receiving your financial aid Award Letter from the College, sign and return it to our office. Your enrollment deposit will reserve this financial aid package for you.

STEP 4: Complete the student loan process. If you are applying for student loans, you may complete the application online or you have the option to complete a paper master promissory note that is available through the Office of Financial Aid.
