Administrative Hiring Procedures

1. The department administrator will submit for record a request for a new or additional employee to the appropriate Vice President.

2. This position will be posted on campus for three (3) working days.

3. The hiring Administrator and the Vice President for Human Resources will initiate the search process to identify qualified candidates to interview.

4. Once a decision on hiring has been reached, the hiring Administrator will extend the employment offer to the new employee, and all unsuccessful applicants will be notified by the Human Resources Office.

5. The newly-appointed administrator will be provided a letter of appointment from the President. Such a letter will delineate the terms of the position, salary, appointment period, and other conditions of employment. The appointment letter and new employee's application material will be maintained in the employee's permanent personnel file.
