not limited to, the Office of Admission, Office of Advancement, Office of
Academic
Affairs, Office of Student Services, and Office of Finance and Administration.
The
Web
Coordinator(s)
will
assure
that
information
from the college catalog is maintained and kept up to date.
Other pages will be maintained by the departments/individuals who have
created them.
Requirements
- the use of an appropriate College indentifier
at the top of the main page
- the use of an appropriate College indentifier
at the top of subsequent pages/documents
- a copyright statement at the bottom of each page/document
- contact name and e-mail address of the individual responsible for the information
at the bottom of each main section or site
- a link to the Augustana Home Page located on the main page
- compliance with the HTML 4.0 standard (transitional) as verified by a validation
service
- compliance with current copyright law
Recommendations
-
Use relative URLs for internal links when constructing pages. Transferring
sites/pages is much easier with relative URLs because it isn't necessary
to change every link within a site/page.
- Check the pages with a variety of computers and browsers. Colors vary
from PCs to Macs, as well as on different monitors.
-
As a rule of thumb, try to keep the total size of a page/document including
images under 60kb. Slow connections due to modems or congestion on
the Internet make it frustrating to wait for a large page to load.
-
If information already exists in another page on the Augustana site, consider
linking to that page rather than re-typing the information. The fewer
places information has to be changed, the less likely there will be conflicting
information on the site.
Server
All Official Pages will reside on www.augie.edu.
