Related Agencies
Definition
Related Agencies are those entities clearly related to Augustana, but not
directly under the auspices of Augustana College. Examples of Related
Agencies include the South Dakota Lutheran Synod and churches which are
members of the Augustana Association.
Requirements
- contact name and e-mail address of the individual responsible for the
information on each main section or web site
- compliance with current copyright law
- a link to the Augustana home page
- a statement "This site hosted by Augustana College"
Recommendations
- compliance with the HTML 4.0 standard (transitional) as verified by a validation
service
- the date the page was last updated on each main section or web site
- se relative URLs for internal links when constructing pages. Transferring
sites/pages is much easier with relative URLs because it isn't necessary to
change every link within a site/page.
- Check the pages with a variety of computers and browsers. Colors
vary from PCs to Macs, as well as on different monitors. Early versions
of browsers may not display tables, support frames, or align images and text
as you had intended.
- As a rule of thumb, try to keep the total size of a page/document including
images under 60kb. Slow connections due to modems or congestion on the
Internet make it frustrating to wait for a large page to load.
- include a copyright statement

Pages for Related Agencies will reside on www.augie.edu or as
determined between the page maintainer and the Augustana WWW Committee and/or
Webmaster.
