PIN Information

 

Dial 9 + 1 + <10 digit number>

Wait for dial tone, enter your 8-digit PIN

 

Phone System Basics

Call Transfer

 1. Place the call on hold by pressing the LINK or FLASH button (or quickly pressing and releasing the receiver on older phones).
2. Dial the number to transfer to.
3. Hang up to complete the transfer.

 
Call Forward

 1. Dial *72
2. Wait for 2nd tone and Dial the number to forward to.  Wait for person to answer and let them know you are forwarding all calls to them.
3. IF busy or no answer, repeat steps 1 & 2 (on no answer, this verifies that you really want the forward).
4. To check, dial *72 --- if forwarded, you get a notice that call forwarding is enabled.
5. When people call your phone, you'll get one short ring and the callers are immediately forwarded.
6. To Remove forward, dial *73

 
Call Forward to campus voice mail:

 1. Dial *72
2. Wait for 2nd tone and Dial the number to forward to (9-274-0015).
3. When the voice mail system answers, simply hang up on it. The forward is set.
4. To check, dial *72 --- if forwarded, you get a notice that call forwarding is enabled.
5. When people call your phone, you'll get one short ring and the callers are immediately forwarded to voice mail.
6. To Remove forward, dial *73

 
Call Pickup (to answer others phones in your hunt group)

 1. Dial *45 to pick up ringing phone in your group.

 
Three-Way Calling

 1. Place your first caller on hld by quickly pressing and reasing the receiver button (or use the Link button or Flash button)
2. You will hear a brief stutter tone.  When you hear the dial tone, youcan make your second call.
3. When the second caller answers, press and release the receiver button to connect all callers.
4. If the second caller does not answer or you reach a busy signal, push the receiver button twice to return to the first caller.
5. To end both calls, simply hang up.
6. To end the second call, push and release the receiver button, or wait for the second caller to hang up.
7. The first callwer will end the original call when they hang up.

 

Nortel Meridian 9316CW Phone Basics:

- Link button is same as Flash on other phones.  Access special switch functions.
- Dial button dials a number that you typed in while on hook.
- Handsfree button - use this at any time to switch to speaker phone
- Rls button to hang up handsfree calls OR to EXIT any display.
- Contrast adjust the display so you can see it.
- Speaker toggle at bottom of phone to turn up or down the volume.
