Accessing Your J:Drive Files with FTP

1. Open Internet Explorer. In the address bar type: ftp://username.student.augie@tucker.augie.edu
2. Login using your full context login (.username.student.augie)
3. Once logged in, add this address to your favorites
4. Right click the file you would like to work on and save it to your computer. You can also drag and drop to and from the FTP window.

 

Virus Protection
If you don’t have current virus protection, you can install Symantec 9 by going to http://10.1.3.35 You will also find a link to AVG antivirus software.

 

How do I print to the printer in the Lab?
1. Click on Start, Printers, Add Printer Click on Next.
2. Choose local printer and uncheck the box to autodetect plug and play printer and Click Next.
3. Choose create a new port and choose standard tcp/ip port and Click Next, Next.
4. Enter the IP address of the printer you want to add. Click Finish when done.
5. After a moment it should either open the windows to choose the printer model, or back to the select printer port windows.
a. If you are taken back to the printer port selection window, Click on “use the following port” and scroll to the bottom and select the standard tcp/ip port you just created, then Click Next. This will take you to the choose window to choose the model.
6. In the windows to choose your printer model, select HP from the left column, and then choose the LaserJet 5m from the right column and Click Next
7. If asked, choose keep existing driver and Click Next
8. Type the name of your ResHall_printer as the printer name. (Berg_printer, Gran_printer, Stavig_printer, Tuve_printer, Solberg_printer, East_printer)
9. Click Next, then choose “do not share this printer” Click next.
10. Choose No to print a test page and then click Next
11. Click Finish
