Historical Abstracts

Historical Abstracts, a reference guide to the history of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada), indexes over 2,000 journals. The database includes links to full-text articles from JSTOR.

JSTOR's History Collection

American Memory: Historical Collections from the Nat'l Digital Library

Includes multimedia collections of digitized documents, photographs, recorded sound, moving pictures, and text from the Library of Congress's Americana collections. There are currently more than 100 collections in the American Memory Historical Collections.

Center for Western Studies, Augustana College

Dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history and cultures of the Northern Plains, the Center for Western Studies serves as a repository for over 200 archival collections and maintains a library in excess of 35,000 volumes on the American West. In addition, the Center holds an extensive art and artifact collection.

Making of America

A digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. The collection is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology. The collection currently contains approximately 9,500 books and 50,000 journal articles with 19th century imprints.

Repositories of Primary Sources

A listing of over 5000 websites describing holdings of manuscripts, archives, rare books, historical photographs, and other primary sources for the research scholar. All links have been tested for correctness and appropriateness and are maintained by the University of Idaho Library.
