Computer Use PolicyThe Augustana College library’s primary purpose is to serve the Augustana community of students, faculty, and staff. As a service to the greater region, the library collections are available for the public to conduct research. Augustana computer facilities are provided for academic purposes. Library computers are for research purposes and non-Augustana patrons may be asked to limit their computer search time to one hour per day. Augustana’s computer use policies specifically prohibit:
Library use by the public is a privilege, not a right. As such, Augustana College reserves the right to ask any person to leave whose behavior is inappropriate for a research setting, who fails to comply with library staff directives, or is disruptive to other users. Inappropriate behaviors specifically include such things as loitering, harassing other patrons or staff members, possessing or consuming alcohol or illegal drugs or being under the influence of same. Augustana Safety personnel or Sioux Falls police will be called for assistance in the event that a person is unwilling to leave or deemed a threat to library staff or patrons. Failure to comply may result in loss of library privileges. |
