In the News: Sioux Falls Featured as a 'Silicon City'

Sioux Falls, the city Augustana calls home, is featured as a "Silicon City" in the latest issue of Free Enterprise, an online publication by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

"As part of our Silicon Cities series, we recently wrote about why people should move to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a city with a booming job market, a very low cost of living, and a high quality of life," the article says. "Yet we wanted to take a deeper dive into the city to discover what, exactly, it has done to become one of the hottest economies and most livable cities in the U.S."

50 Years Later: Remembering Augustana's March for Human Dignity

As thousands gathered in Selma, Alabama, this weekend to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the "Bloody Sunday" march – a movement spurred by the 1965 police assault on civil rights demonstrators, and one that ultimately led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act – Augustana alumni and former faculty recalled marching on campus and throughout Sioux Falls in recognition of the events in Selma.

2015 Concerto-Aria Winners Named

Berett Steffen, Anthony Metzgar, Christian Einertson and Emily Wehde were named winners of the 2015 Concerto-Aria competition, held on Sunday, March 1, in the Humanities Center.

NSIC Champs

Augustana men's basketball captured the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament with a 98-82 victory over MSU Moorhead (32-3) on Tuesday night in front of 3,203 fans at the Sanford Pentagon. The victory secured the first-ever NSIC Tournament Championship since joining the league in 2008-09.
