SIOUX FALLS – Johanna Gronewold, a senior from Madelia, Minn., is the Augustana Covenant Award winner for Christian faith.
The Augustana Covenant Awards were established to reward students who exhibit the College’s five core values – Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community, Service. Recipients are chosen by a committee of faculty and staff.
“I am truly honored by this recognition, but I would like to emphasize that it is not me, but a loving God working through me to make a difference,” Gronewold told Luke Tatge, editor in chief of The Augustana Mirror.
Gronewold is majoring in nursing and is a Dean’s List student. This fall she served as a co-chair of the Viking Days Central Committee and was elected to the Royal Court. She is the daughter of Lillian and Mark Gronewold.
Also nominated for the award were seniors Emma Halverson (Karlstad, MN) and Jenny Anderson (North Branch, MN), and junior Beth Singleton (Moorhead, MN).
