Augustana Receives High Rankings from U.S. News & World Report

SIOUX FALLS – Augustana is ranked high in U.S. News & World Report’s 2010 edition of America’s Best Colleges.

The magazine lists Augustana No. 3 in its Midwest Best Baccalaureate Colleges category. In the same category, the magazine lists Augustana No. 2 in best values.

Schools in the Baccalaureate College category focus on undergraduate education and offer a range of degree programs—in the liberal arts, which account for fewer than half of their bachelor’s degrees, and in professional fields such as business, nursing, and education. The 319 colleges in this category are ranked within four geographic regions: North, South, Midwest, and West.

Highlights of the college rankings will be published in the September 2009 issue of U.S.News & World Report, available for newsstand purchase Monday, August 24. The 2010 America's Best Colleges guidebook will be available Tuesday, August 25.

The Princeton Review also ranks Augustana as one of the best colleges in the Midwest. The education services company selected Augustana as one of 158 institutions it profiles in its “Best in the Midwest” section of its website feature, 2010 Best Colleges: Region by Region.
