College Announces “All Access Augustana” Initiative
Tuesday, September 15, 2009

SIOUX FALLS - The Office of Marketing & Communications has launched a new initiative to tell the Augustana story from student perspectives. All Access Augustana is designed to create a more dynamic, robust and interactive Web presence, particularly for prospective students and their parents.
“This process puts our College in a relatively unique place among its peers in terms of prominently showcasing student talent while, at the same time, gaining more exposure for the College,” said Bob Preloger, vice president for marketing and communications.
One Augustana student already getting some national publicity for his video talent is Jesse Black, a junior from Custer, SD, who had his 2-minute video promoted on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show.
To encourage more student-generated content for the Web, a team of students led by Steven Tims, a junior from Sioux Falls, is capturing aspects of student life through Flip™ video cameras. Once edited, the videos are posted on YouTube and accessible through www.augie.edu/allaccess. The first All Access video captures Game Day (September 5th) at Augustana:
