Professor Wright’s Book Receives National Recognition

SIOUX FALLS, SD – A book written by Augustana Professor Robert E. Wright has received national recognition.
Dr. Wright is an Assistant Professor of Economics and the Nef Family Chair of Political Economy. His book, One Nation Under Debt: Hamilton, Jefferson, and the History of What We Owe (New York: McGraw-Hill, 2008), has been selected as one of the National Chamber Foundation’s (NCF) Books That Drive the Free Enterprise Debate.
The NCF is a non-profit affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce dedicated to identifying and fostering public debate on emerging critical issues. NCF provides business and government leaders with insight and resources to address tomorrow’s challenges.
NCF resources and programs focus on three goals: (1) examine emerging business issues, (2) drive public debate, and (3) inform business and government leaders. The organization offers research programs, roundtables, and conferences, and leadership development initiatives.
”Books that Drive the Debate” is a list of books by business leaders and policy experts that help shape the debate on issues important to the business community.
One Nation Under Debt explores the untold history of America's first national debt, which arose from the immense sums needed to conduct the American Revolution.
