Thought Leader Forum features Major League Baseball VP

SIOUX FALLS, SD – Webster, SD, native and Augustana graduate Laurel Prieb headlines the final segment of Augustana’s Thought Leader Forum on Professional Sports in America on Friday, April 23.
Prieb is in his fifth year as Vice-President of Western Operations and Special Projects for Major League Baseball. He will discuss the state of Major League Baseball in the current economy, the Minnesota Twins’ move to an outdoor stadium, the signing of Twins catcher Joe Mauer to a multi-million dollar, long-term contract, expansion here and abroad, Mark McGwire’s appointment as the St. Louis Cardinals’ batting coach, the steroids era, and more.

Prieb began his career with the Minnesota Twins, coordinating the All-Star Game in 1985. He spent 14 seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers prior to accepting his current appointment.
He is a member of the Augustana Board of Trustees and serves on the board of directors of the Phoenix Boys and Girls Club. Laurel and his wife, Wendy, live in Scottsdale, Ariz., with their daughter, Natalie.
