Augustana Named ‘A Best in the Midwest’ by The Princeton Review
Tuesday, August 3, 2010
Augustana has again been named one of the best colleges in the Midwest, according to The Princeton Review, a nationally known education services company. Augustana is listed among a select group of 152 institutions The Princeton Review recommends in the "Best in the Midwest" section of its website feature," 2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region."
"We're pleased to recommend Augustana to users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergraduate degree. We chose it and the other terrific institutions we name as 'regional best' colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs. From several hundred schools in each region, we developed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisors whose recommendations we invite. We also take into account what students at the schools reported to us about their campus experiences," said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president for Publishing.
Founded in 1860, Augustana is a selective, residential, comprehensive college of the Lutheran Church serving nearly 1,800 students from 25 states and two dozen countries. Committed to enriching lives and fostering development, Augustana combines a foundation in the liberal arts with professional skill and advanced study. The College will celebrate its sesquicentennial during the 2010-2011 academic year.
