Tuve Award Honors Visionary Supporters

Augustana has announced that Gerry Berger Law and Robert S. Law, of Clear Lake, S.D., are recipients of the prestigious Tuve Award.

Named for Anthony G. Tuve, Augustana’s president from 1890 to 1916, the Tuve Award honors visionary, forward-thinking, generous individuals who have reached the level of $100,000 in charitable gift support to the College.

“In two significant areas in particular, the Boe Forum on Public Affairs and the Fantle Building, Gerry and Robert have helped the Center for Western Studies at Augustana advance in especially visible ways,” said Rob Oliver, president. “Augustana College, and especially the Center for Western Studies, is privileged to call them friends. We are blessed by their steadfast leadership, their energetic involvement and their generous investment.”

A noted businesswoman, community leader and advocate for the humanities, Gerry Law is a long-serving member of the Boe Forum Committee. She joined the National Advisory Council in 1992, and later the CWS Board of Directors, on which she continues to serve.

The Laws played a significant role in the completion of the Fantle Building. Mrs. Law served as Chair of the Board and was a member of both the Executive and Development Committees. Together, the Laws also made a substantial gift to the construction of the facility.
