5:45 A.M. SUNDAY UPDATE: Augustana Students at Cairo Airport; "Cleopatra" Group Likely to Depart on Monday

Early this morning, Augustana officials confirmed that student members of the Augustana Band and other members of the group’s Egyptian Tour, known as the “King Tut” and “Sphinx” groups are at Cairo International Airport, awaiting takeoff on Delta Flight No. 9428 (KLM 554), scheduled to depart at 2:25 p.m. today (6:25 a.m. CST).
This group will fly to Amsterdam, where they will stay overnight, and are scheduled to arrive in Minneapolis on Delta Flight No. 259 at 12:15 p.m. CST on Monday, Jan. 31.
Augustana officials have been working closely with Delta Airlines to make arrangements for the remaining students and Tour travelers, known as the “Cleopatra” group, to depart on Monday, Jan. 31. This group’s originally scheduled departure from Cairo was set for Saturday, and then was rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 1.
As of early this morning, Delta officials were finalizing arrangements for this group to depart from Cairo on Monday at 2:25 p.m. (6:25 a.m. CST).
