  • Students Collecting Christmas Gifts For Families, Teens in Need

    In an effort to help those in need this holiday season, Augustana students are collecting gifts for area children, teens, families and individuals in need. Gift ideas are included on Christmas trees located throughout campus. Gifts can be deposited through Wednesday, Dec. 12. New this year, Augustana students are overseeing Teen Town, a Salvation Army program that provides gifts to teens from low-income families.

  • Alumnus Named Rhodes Scholar

    Rafiullah (Rafi) Kakar, a native of Pakistan, attended Augustana in 2010 and was recognized by the selection committee as an individual with "outstanding intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service." As a Rhodes Scholar, he will study at the University of Oxford.

  • Campus Community Gathers for Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

    The Augustana community celebrated the start of the holiday season at the annual "Lighting of the Augustana Christmas Tree" Tuesday night. The event included holiday crafts, photos with Ole and Christmas carols led by members of The Augustana Choir.   • Center for Western Studies Named Repository for Blue Cloud Abbey-American Indian Culture Research Center (AICRC) Collection

    The Center for Western Studies has been named the repository for more than 4,000 books, 40,000 photographs and various artifacts from the Blue Cloud Abbey-American Indian Culture Research Center (AICRC) collection, previously housed at the Benedictine monastery near Marvin, S.D.

  • Newsmakers: 'Book Lovers Settle In to Read ... And Read'

Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" at Augustana's second annual Reading Marathon hosted by the Alpha Xi Mu chapter of Sigma Tau Delta (the international honors society for English majors and minors).
