Werner Named Director of Augustana Institutional Research

Augustana College today announced that Darla Werner has been named Director of Institutional Research.
In her new role, Werner will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, reporting and using internal and external data to inform and support institutional decision-making and strategic planning.
“With more than 30 years of experience in technology and data management, Darla is exceptionally well-suited for this important role,” said Dr. Murray Haar, senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. “We’re pleased to welcome her on board.”
Before joining Augustana, Werner spent 13 years at LodgeNet Interactive Corporation, most recently serving as Vice President of Information Technologies. While at LodgeNet, Werner’s management responsibilities included multimedia and interactive design; systems operations, architecture, and administration; electronic engineering; project management; desktop technical support and helpdesk; computer and software procurement; software applications development and engineering; network operations and engineering; and data integrity and reporting.
Prior to LodgeNet, Werner worked at the USGS EROS Data Center for over 20 years where she was responsible for managing the USGS data centers and data archives. During her tenure, she managed the planning and development of the Landsat 7 operations center for the USGS-NASA-NOAA satellite mission.
She is a 1977 graduate of Augustana, where she majored in biology and computer science.
