Augustana has again been ranked among the best colleges in the Midwest, according to the nationally known education services company, The Princeton Review. Earlier this month, the College was listed among the nation’s best colleges and universities in Forbes’ annual list of “America’s Top Colleges.”

Verna Berg, class of 1951, longtime secretary to Augustana College presidents from the 1950s through the 1990s including Dr. Lawrence Stavig, Dr. Charles Balcer, Dr. Bill Nelsen, Dr. Lloyd Svendsbye and others, passed away on Friday, Aug.10, in Milbank, S.D.
Hugh Weber has been named Director of Continuing Education. In his new role, Weber will be responsible for designing and developing continuing education workshops, regional conferences and other opportunities for lifelong learning.

Larry Borgum ‘61, a longtime and beloved Athletics and Financial Aid official for Augustana, died on Monday, Aug. 6. He was 73. "Borgie," as he was known, joined the College in 1967 and served in various roles during his tenure, supporting Athletic Services, Sports Information, the Athletic Business Office and Financial Aid. Services are set for Saturday, Aug. 11.
