Commencement Weekend Begins with 'Suite' Farewell

Archeology Students Teach Kids Science Behind Excavation

Augustana archeology students had the chance to show area kids the science behind archeological excavations earlier this month at the Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons' Big Event, held at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Learn more and watch the video.

Augustana to Offer On-Demand, Online Workshops

The on-demand, continuing education courses can be taken online at the student's convenience over two-week periods this summer for undergraduate or graduate credit and meet South Dakota teacher certification/re-certification requirements.

Graduating Tracksters Honored Ahead of NCAA National Tourney

Four graduating seniors will be missing from Commencement on Saturday as they compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Allendale, Michigan, later this week.To honor them, Augustana held a special Commencement on Sunday, May 18, in the Elmen Center.

Nine Students Inducted into French Honor Society

Nine Augustana students were inducted into the College's Mu Alpha chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the national French Honor Society designed to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and Francophone literature and to stimulate and to encourage French and Francophone cultural activities.

Augustana Mourns Loss of Dr. Art Olsen

Dr. Arthur (Art) Olsen, professor emeritus of philosophy and religion and former provost, passed away on Sunday, May 4. During his tenure, Olsen served Augustana for more than 40 years and remained a dedicated advocate for the College even after his retirement. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 26.

Conference to Focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders June 12-13

Recent numbers by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that one in 68 children today has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder — up 30 percent in just two years. The Lighting the Way Conference will focus on autism spectrum disorders in our community June 12-13 on the Augustana campus.
