Choir Set to Depart on 20-Day European Tour
On Sunday, 54 members of The Augustana Choir will depart on a 20-day European Tour with stops in Berlin, Germany; Potsdam, Germany (where Choir members will take part in a Sister Cities gathering, sponsored by the Sister Cities Association of Sioux Falls); Leipzig, Germany; Prague, Czech Republic; Krakow, Poland; Vienna, Austria; Bratislava, Slovakia; Salzburg, Austria; and Munich, Germany.
In addition to their performances, Choir members will be studying international communications via a J-Term course led by Dr. Michael Nitz, associate professor of Communications Studies and coordinator of Norwegian programs, Dr. Scott Johnson, associate professor of music and chair of the Department of Music, Dr. Paul Nesheim, director of The Augustana Choir, and Brad Heegel '76, tour coordinator and coordinator of Arts marketing and development.
Following its return to the U.S., The Augustana Choir will perform a "European Tour Homecoming Concert" at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
