Students to Present Senior Thesis Research

Two Augustana students will present their senior thesis research at the regional meeting of the American Academy of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature.

Dr. Bruce Ammann, Director of Bands and Professor of Music at Augustana College, was elected to the Board of Directors of The American Bandmasters Association (ABA) at the organization’s annual convention March 3-7 in College Station, Texas.

Former Trustee Dick Niebuhr Dies at Age 64

Dick Niebuhr, 64, former member of the Augustana Board of Trustees, died Saturday, March 7, in Aberdeen, S.D. The funeral will be Saturday, March 14 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Three Students Win Accounting Scholarships

Three Augustana students have received scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year from The Image Enhancement Committee of the South Dakota CPA Society.

Seniors Named Peace Prize Forum Scholars

Augustana students Kimberly Johnson (Sioux Falls) and Beth Singleton (Moorhead, MN) have been selected 2009 Peace Prize Forum Scholars.  In August, Johnson and Singleton will be part of this select core of students traveling to Chiapas, Mexico.

Augustana Introduces New Viking Mascot

The official mascot since 1939, Ole the Viking came to life on Friday, February 20th. He was unveiled as the seven-foot symbol of Augustana athletics.
