Discussion to Focus on Climate Change

Gary Hanson, chair of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, will examine growing concerns over climate change at a public discussion sponsored by Augie Green, Augustana's environmental club, and the East River Group of the Sierra Club at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, in room 100 of the Gilbert Science Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
Currently serving in his second six-year term as chair of South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, Hanson has also served as a representative to the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions on Electricity, is co-founder of the Lewis & Clark Water Project, served as a South Dakota State Senator for three terms and served as mayor of Sioux Falls from 1994-2002.
