Nearly 4,000 people filled the Elmen Center on Monday night to hear acclaimed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson speak at the 20th Boe Forum on Public Affairs.
Petersen Named Assistant Director of Bands and Music Education

Dr. Larry Petersen has been named assistant director of bands and music education. In his new role, Petersen will direct the Blue & Gold Band and the Athletic Bands, as well as lead the coordination of the Augustana music teacher education program.

Augustana's Giving Day, a 24-hour giving event held on Thursday, March 2, set a single-day Augustana record for most gifts received in a 24-hour period: $135,968 was received from 282 donors. Gifts came in from 33 states and the District of Columbia, with Augustana alumni making up 69 percent of donors.

Experience Expo Connects Students With Opportunities

Hundreds of Augustana students who spent time on Wednesday meeting with area employers, volunteer organizations, campus groups, and study abroad agencies at the 2017 Augustana Experience Expo. Held in the Elmen Center, the event was sponsored by Augustana's Student Success Center, the Augustana Student Association, the International Programs Office and the Center for Campus Life.
