    Augustana ranks high in both academics and athletics in the 11th annual NCSA Athletic Recruiting Collegiate Power Rankings. The College is ranked eighth among NCAA Division II schools, No. 85 among 1,066 active NCAA member schools and is the only school listed in the overall top 100 from South Dakota.

    “The Commandant of Lubizec,”a novel by Augustana Writer-in-Residence and Chair of the English and Journalism department Dr. Patrick Hicks, will be published by Steerforth/Random House in March 2014.

  • Senior's Research on Health Care Coverage for Farmers Published

    “Betting the Farm: Health Coverage, Behaviors and Concerns Among South Dakota Farmers,” a research article by Augustana senior Michael Dulitz (Webster, S.D.) will be featured in the October 2013 issue of South Dakota Medicine, the journal for the South Dakota State Medical Association.

  • Students Register to Vote

    Thirty students registered to vote this week at the voter registration drive organized by students from Dr. Emily Wanless' "American Presidency" class, along with student representatives from COUPS (Committee of Undergraduate Political Scientists), the Augustana College Republicans and the Augustana Democrats.

    Students presented their summer research findings to peers and faculty earlier this week at Augustana's annual "Undergraduate Summer Research" poster presentation, held inside the Gilbert Science Center.

  • Mikkelsen Library Team Provides Region-Wide Leadership

    Next week, more than 400 librarians from 12 states will arrive in Sioux Falls for "The Library: All Travelers Welcome," a conference of the Mountain Plains Library Association in conjunction with the South Dakota and North Dakota Library Associations. Members of Augustana's Mikkelsen Library have played key roles in planning the conference.

    Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson competed in the fictionalized Google internship program in the summer movie “The Internship.” Well, they got the uniform right, and Laura (Pfeifer) Vardoulakis ’02 should know. She donned the new employee beanie earlier this year when she joined the user experience research team at Google’s Silicon Valley headquarters.
