Students Advance in Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival Competition

Seniors Katelynn Kenney (Box Elder, S.D.) and Matt Stoffel (Sherburn, Minn.) have advanced to the semifinal round of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival's Irene Ryan Acting Competition (Region V: representing North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota).
In addition, Augustana's student Stage Crew Showdown Team, which includes Lindsay Boehmer (junior, Sioux Falls), Bob Tomshack (sophomore, Sioux Falls), Jeff Larsen (sophomore, Sioux Falls) and Travis Clark (junior, Box Elder), have advanced to the final round of the competition.
According to its website, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival is a national theater program involving 18,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide which has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States. The KCACTF has grown into a network of more than 600 academic institutions throughout the country, where theater departments and student artists showcase their work and receive outside assessment by KCACTF respondents.
The festival is being held Jan. 19-25 at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb.
