Recent Augustana Graduates Have Big Plans

Recent graduates and even soon-to-be-retired President Rob Oliver get this question a lot: "What's next for you?"

On Saturday, May 20, Augustana University celebrated 421 men and women from throughout the U.S. and around the world at the 2017 Commencement ceremony. They are now ready to learn from and serve communities all over the world.

Augustana Earns Grant for Classics Outreach

Augustana University students hosted a Classics Outreach event for area high schools.

This spring, thanks to a grant designed to "strengthen existing bridges and build new ones," Augustana's classics department, Classics Club and members of the new chapter of Eta Sigma Phi (classics honor society) hosted more than 30 students from Lincoln High School and O'Gorman High School for a classics outreach event. 

Faculty, Staff Celebrate Graduating Golfer Ahead of Commencement

Graduating senior Jordan Bormann, a biology major from Parkston, South Dakota, will miss Commencement on Saturday because she'll be competing in the NCAA DII National Golf Championship in Findley, Ohio. So, AU officials and faculty and staff from the biology department organized a mini commencement for her on Monday. See photos. 

Senior Named 'Outstanding Student' for Work in Nuclear, Radiochemistry Program

Senior Emily Kaufman received the "Outstanding Student" award from the Brookhaven National Laboratory for her work during a six-week Summer School in Nuclear and Radiochemistry Program. The award was presented last month at the annual meeting for the National American Chemical Society, held in San Francisco, California. We caught up with Kaufman to learn more about her experiences and her plans for the future.
