Bormann Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
Augustana University women's golf student-athlete Jordan Bormann has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She is one of only 29 recipients nationwide to receive the prestigious award.
The one-time scholarships of $7,500 are awarded for fall, winter and spring sports. Each sports season 29 scholarships are available for men and 29 scholarships are available for women, regardless of division, for use in an accredited graduate program. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in at least their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.
Bormann is the first women's golf student-athlete from Augustana to earn an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
A native of Parkston, South Dakota, Bormann compiled a 3.94 grade-point average as a biology major at Augustana and will attend the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. Read more about Bormann.
Bormann finished her career at Augustana as a four-year letterwinner in golf while earning Academic All-NSIC honors and WGCA All-America Scholar athlete honors three times. She was named All-NSIC Second Team twice in her career, including in 2016-17 after her third straight top-10 finish at the NSIC Championship. Bormann earned NSIC Golfer of the Week honors twice during her senior season, following her first-place finish at the at the Super Region Three Fall Preview on Oct. 3 and a second-place finish at the UNK Spring Invite on March 26.
She fired a season-low round of 73 in the second round of the UNK Spring Invite and finished the year with an 80.3 stroke average. Bormann posted three top-10 finishes, including two in the top-5 and one medalist honor in 2016-17. She was recently named to the College Sports Information Directors of America All-District 7 Team while also being listed as an NSIC Honor Student-Athlete while also being awarded the Butch Raymond Scholarship. Bormann capped-off her senior campaign with a 32nd-place finish at the NCAA Super Region Three Championship and a 70th-place finish at the NCAA Championship.
Augustana women's golf made its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 10 seasons in 2016-17 after winning the program's eighth straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship.
