SIOUX FALLS – Seven Augustana College students have been awarded Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year.
The Augustana Faculty Scholarship and Awards Committee made the selections on the basis of scholarship, campus/community service, and how well the nominees fit the description of the donors as someone “equipped for life.”
Fred. C. Christopherson, who died in 1989, was the editor of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader for 31 years. J. Marie Christopherson, who also died in 1989, wrote the “Driftwood” column printed in the Argus Leader for 20 years.
The 2006-2007 recipients are:
Meagan Booth, Cedar Rapids, IA. Meagan is majoring in elementary education and modern foreign languages. She is the daughter of Robbin Powers and Tracy Booth.
Nathan Elg, Sioux Falls, SD. Nathan is majoring in chemistry and biology. He is the son of Karine and Joshua Baldwin.
Kyle Mickalowski, Sioux Falls, SD. Kyle is majoring in chemistry. He is the son of Linda and Dan Mickalowski.
Canaan Petersen, Luverne, MN. Canaan is majoring in history. He is the son of Dawn and Dan Petersen.
Jessica Schelhaas, Leota, MN. Jessica is a nursing major. She is the daughter of Sandra and Ivan Schelhaas.
Alex Stommes, Sioux Falls, SD. Alex is a computer science major. He is the son of Joanne and Dan Stommes.
Kristen Wohlrabe, Moorhead, MN. Kristen is majoring in business administration and sociology. She is the daughter of Rev. Larry and Joy Wohlrabe.
