SIOUX FALLS – The inauguration of Augustana Student Association (ASA) officers for the 2006-2007 school year was held May 11th in the Chapel of Reconciliation.
Bethany Rasmussen was installed as president, Heather Ailts as vice president, and Jesson Vogt as treasurer. Augustana President Bruce Halverson presided.
ASA is the student government of Augustana College. ASA works in cooperation with the administration, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees of the College to confront issues ranging from academic accreditation to buildings and grounds.
ASA runs an annual budget of more than $175,000 and oversees several programming arms including Concert and Lecture, the Union Board of Governors, New Student Orientation, and Viking Days.
Rasmussen, a junior from Hurley, S.D., is majoring in government/international affairs. She is the daughter of Nancy and Mark Rasmussen.
Ailts, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, is majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Marlys and Blaine Ailts.
Vogt is a sophomore from Magnolia, Minn., and is majoring in biology. He is the son of Debra and Alan Vogt.
Augustana is a liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
