SIOUX FALLS – Three members of the Augustana women’s track and field team have been selected to compete in the 2006 NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships May 25-27 at Fran Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan.
Making the field are Mary Stoll (Sioux Falls), Becky Schulz (Westbrook, MN), and Jen Buyske (Big Timber, MT).
Stoll qualified in the 800 meters, turning in the 14th-fastest time in the country this season at 2:11.92. She won the North Central Conference 800 title last week, and was fifth in the 800 at the national indoor championships.
Schulz won the high jump at the NCC outdoor meet this season and qualified 12th for nationals with a season’s best leap of 5-feet, 7 inches. She tied for fourth at the 2005 national outdoor competition.
Buyske is the defending Division II javelin champion. She heads to Kansas with a season’s best throw of 140-9¼.
