Naomi Gades Receives Library Associates Research Award
SIOUX FALLS – Naomi Gades, a senior from Maple Grove, Minn., is the recipient of the 2007 Augustana Library Associates Research Award. Her winning paper is entitled The Carnivorous Mr. Bloom: Meat, Gender, and James Joyce’s Ulysses.
The $250 Augustana Library Associates Research Award is given in recognition of outstanding achievement in research methodology and writing. Participants of the Augustana Symposium were eligible to submit their work for consideration.
Gades is majoring in English, German, and secondary education. She received the Sophomore Honors Award in 2005 for scholarship, character, personal traits, and other evidence of achievements.
She will graduate in May with summa cum laude distinction and will be a teaching assistant in Wiesentheid, Germany, for the 2007-2008 academic year. She is the daughter of Larry Gades and Dr. Pamela Dumke.
The Augustana Library Associates was established in 1983 to promote and support Mikkelsen Library and academic excellence at Augustana College.
