SIOUX FALLS – The Bob Hall Football Complex and Sanford Gymnasium was dedicated Friday, April 20.
The $4.2 million addition to the Elmen Center is a two-story facility designed to improve training, aid in the recruitment of student-athletes, and generally enhance the college’s athletic program. The lower floor of the 27,000 square foot structure is for the football program, while the upper floor provides practice space for men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball.
Dedication ceremonies were held in the Sanford Gymnasium. Speakers included Tom Shields and Jim Hoogeveen from the Chamber of Commerce; Rob Oliver, president of Augustana College; Jane Zaloudek, chair of the Augustana Board of Trustees; Kevin Lampe, vice president of Sanford Health; Bill Gross, Augustana athletic director; Brad Salem, Augustana football coach; Tom Billeter, Augustana men’s basketball coach, and Paul Rohde, Augustana campus pastor.
Student-athletes offering scripture readings and reflections were Jordan Nordquist, football; Alison Adamson, women’s basketball; Ian Thomas, men’s basketball; and Lisa Hoegh, volleyball.
