SIOUX FALLS – Dr. Bruce Ammann, director of bands and professor of music at Augustana College, has been invited to direct a massed band ensemble at the Upper Midwest Band Salute to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
He will direct a massed ensemble comprised of bands from the Upper Midwest in a special Pre-Olympic Band Festival in June, 2008. Concerts will take place in performing arts centers in Beijing and Shanghai.
The event is titled, Perform in Harmony – With Olympic Spirit.
Dr. Ammann has also been selected to conduct the band program at the 2007 Lutheran Summer Music Camp. It will be his fourth appointment as the LSM band conductor. This nationally known summer music camp will be held on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College June 24-July 22, 2007.
