High School Art on Display at Eide/Dalrymple Gallery

SIOUX FALLS – Augustana College’s annual High School Art Invitational opens Tuesday, February 27, and runs through Sunday, March 25, at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery.

Thirty-five students showcase a large variety of works ranging from paintings and photography to ceramics. Students participating in the juried Augustana show have the opportunity to compete for recognition and awards. Augustana College Visual Arts Scholarships will be awarded as grand prizes to two high school seniors, and two additional students will receive first-place awards and enrollment in an art class of their choosing at Augustana.

Saturday, March 3, has been declared Celebrate High School Arts day. Augustana joins the Washington Pavilion High School Art Show and the Horse Barn Arts Center’s seventh annual Regional High School Exhibit in recognizing young artists. Augustana is hosting an Art Studio Open House from 10:00 a.m. to noon, gallery reception from 1:00-4:00 p.m. with the scholarship awards ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at the new Center for Visual Arts at 30th Street and Grange Avenue on the Augustana campus. Receptions at the Washington Pavilion and Horse Barn Arts Center will also be held in the afternoon from 1:00-4:00. The awards ceremony at the Horse Barn Arts Center is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
