SIOUX FALLS – Augustana’s Nate Buys has been named the North Central Conference co-wrestler of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Buys, who earned the conference nod for the second time this season, is a senior from Hull, Iowa. He is currently ranked third nationally at 197 pounds.
Last week he avenged one of his two losses by scoring a 13-2 major decision against No. 2-ranked Jacob Marrs of Nebraska-Omaha. Buys did not yield a point until Marrs recorded a reversal with eight seconds remaining in the match.
On Sunday, February 25, the Vikings compete in the North Regional Championships in Moorhead, Minn. The top four places in each weight class advance to the national championships.
