SIOUX FALLS – The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery of Augustana College has been awarded a 2007 Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) grant from Heritage Preservation and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
The CAP grant will allow the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery to work with a professional conservator to assess its facilities and collection of 2,500 works of art. This assessment will help establish a comprehensive program to preserve one of the most significant collections of original prints between Minneapolis and Omaha.
IMLS is a leader in preventative conservation and is dedicated to helping the nation’s museums protect their collections. CAP is a one-time award funded by the IMLS and is administered by the Heritage Preservation.
Located in Augustana College’s Center for Visual Arts on Commons Circle (30th Street and Grange Avenue), the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery features changing exhibitions of regional artists, works from its collection, and ethnographic art. It is open to the public free of charge. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 5:00 p.m.
