Conference Honors Augustana’s Mike Loberg
SIOUX FALLS – Augustana’s Mike Loberg has been named the North Central Conference Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 25, the NCC office announced Monday.
The senior outfielder from Andover, Minn., hit .458 (11 for 24) in seven games last week. He scored 13 runs, including at least one run in each game. He crossed the plate four times in Augie’s 18-3 win over Minnesota Crookston on Sunday, March 25, at Ronken Field.
For the week, Loberg hit one double, one triple, two homers, and drove in 10 runs. His performance helped the Vikings to a 4-3 record for the week.
On the year, Loberg is hitting a team-high .418 (28 for 67). He also leads the team in runs (22), RBI (23), home runs (5), slugging percentage (.746), and stolen bases (3).
Loberg is a physical education major. He is the son of Wendy and Tim Loberg.
