SIOUX FALLS – Christina Hausman is the 2006-07 recipient of the Augustana Covenant Award for Community.
Covenant Awards are presented throughout the school year to recognize students who embody Augustana’s five core values – Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community, Service.
Hausman is a senior pursuing majors in biology and government/international affairs with a journalism minor. Academically she is a Dean’s List student while maintaining an active role in campus activities.
She is currently directing the layout and design for the 2007 edition of the EDDA, Augustana’s yearbook. She was a member of the EDDA staff in 2003-04, was the Organizations Section editor in 2004-05, and was the editor of the Arts Section in 2005-06.
She is in her second term with the Union Board of Governors (UBG) and this year is the governor of the Big Event Board. She also serves on the UBG Lectures committee, which has secured the appearance of Maya Angelou on May 11 in the Elmen Center. In addition, she is a member of the Augustana Semester of Peace committee.
Off campus, Hausman is interning with US Senator Tim Johnson’s Sioux Falls office this semester.
Hausman graduated from Papillion-LaVista High School in Papillion, Neb., in 2003. She is the daughter of Marianne and Scott Hausman, who now live in Lebanon, Ohio.
