Augustana Student Association Officers Installed for 2007-08

ASA President Jesson Vogt and Vice President John MaisenbachSIOUX FALLS – Augustana Student Association (ASA) officers for 2007-08 were installed Wednesday, May 9, during ceremonies in the Chapel of Reconciliation.

Jesson Vogt was installed as president, John Maisenbach as vice president, and Jenni Andersen as treasurer. Augustana President Rob Oliver presided.

ASA is the student government of Augustana College. ASA works in cooperation with the administration, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees of the College to confront issues ranging from academic accreditation to buildings and grounds.

ASA runs an annual budget of more than $175,000 and oversees several programming arms including Concert and Lecture, the Union Board of Governors, New Student Orientation, and Viking Days.

Vogt is a junior from Magnolia, Minn., and is majoring in biology. He is the son of Debra and Alan Vogt. He served as ASA treasurer in 2006-2007.

Maisenbach is a junior from Spencer, Iowa, and is majoring in government/international affairs. He is the son of Diane and the Rev. C. Peter Maisenbach.

Andersen is a freshman from Sioux Falls and is an accounting major. She is the daughter of Patricia and Dennis Anderson.

Augustana is a selective, residential liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
