Karbowski was honored at the 30th annual Minnesota Public Relations Society of America (MPRSA) Classics Awards ceremony.  She was one of five students to receive the award.  The daughter of Virginia and Stan Karbowski, she is majoring in Spanish and Communication/Business.

In addition, Karbowski and three other students received the President's Award as recognition for scoring the highest among applicants from their respective PRSSA chapters within the communications experience section of the Dr. Willard Thompson scholarship entry.

The Classics awards honor public relations excellence in campaigns and tactics that address communication challenges with exemplary skill, creativity, and resourcefulness.  As part of this awards ceremony, MPRSA also recognizes the best in student public relations among schools in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Karbowski is a member of the Augustana PRSA chapter that won a Classics Award last year for its work on the Sioux Empire Adoption Fair.
