Kightlinger Earns Outstanding Senior in French Award

Andrew Kightlinger (Pierre, SD) is the recipient of a 2007-2008 Outstanding Senior in French Award from The American Association of Teachers of French (AATF).

The award is made annually to a graduating senior who has demonstrated excellence in the study of French as well as exceptional commitment to the French language and the many cultures where it is spoken.

Recipients must have completed at least three years of French study at the time of graduation and be non-native speakers of French. Kightlinger is majoring in French and government & international affairs. He will graduate May 25 with cum laude distinction. He is the son of Dr. Lon Kightlinger and the late Mynna Kightlinger

Andrew has participated in study abroad, is a member of the French Club, and is a member of Pi Delta Phi, the national French honor society. He has studied French for four years at Augustana and is a student of Dr. Scott Fish.

The AATF was founded in 1927 and has as its mission the promotion of the study of French language and French-speaking literatures and cultures at all levels.
