During a campus ceremony on April 30, nine students were inducted into the Phi Phi Chapter of the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society.
The inductees are: junior Brian Boyenga, son of Diane and Paul Boyenga, Ellsworth, Minn.; junior Andrew Brynjulson, son of Brenda and Curtis Brynjulson, Sioux Falls; junior Scott Hale, son of Theresa and Jeffrey Hale, Omaha, Neb.; junior Katie Kuyper, daughter of Brenda and David Kuyper, Sioux Falls; junior Brett Lutmer, son of Debra and Michael Lutmer, Omaha, Neb.; junior Judie Marshall, daughter of Colleen and Kent Marshall, Barrett, Minn.; sophomore Karrie Miller, daughter of Martha and Toby Miller, Valentine, Neb.; junior Ashley Nissen, daughter of Stacy and David Nissen, New Brighton, Minn.; and junior Kristen Pittenger, daughter of Rebecca and Rev. Rick Pittenger, Brandon, S.D.
Augustana’s Phi Phi Chapter was founded in the fall of 2007. Kelsey Aakre, a senior from Hawley, Minn., is chapter president. She is the daughter of Pam and Dean Aakre.
Lambda Pi Eta was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas. LPH became a part of the National Communication Association (NCA) in 1988, and the official honor society of the NCA in July 1995.
